How Your Morning Coffee Can Get You Free Flights on Multiple Airlines
Why purchase miles when you can earn them with everyday purchases? A win is a win for me!
We all know that building airline points by obtaining an airlines credit card is the most preeminent form but sometimes the airlines whose card we acquired, may not have the most affordable prices. So in this case, what do you do? Do you continue to utilize the your airlines credit card to get that free checked bag (which we both know you're not saving on anyway) or do you utilize the cheaper option but lose out on the back end?
Well what if I told you, you can win both ways?
Many airlines have applications (apps) that you can use to receive points just by making everyday purchases whether its via e-gift cards, featured apps or shopping with verified brand deals. I'm sure all of that is quite confusing so let me get to specifics.
I personally love to get my weekly Starbucks every Wednesday that leads the way toward my free drink of choice when I reach for the twinkling stars 150 to be exact.
Just by simply opening the "united Mileage Plus X" app I can purchase a gift card in the amount of my purchase (in $5 increments of course) add it to my Starbucks app and voila I have acquired airline points and Starbucks point from one purchase. Not to mention with me being an airline credit card holder my points are then doubled but the use of an airline card is not required.
So yes that's one way to earn airline points as well as lifestyle points but lets get into the fun stuff. Gaining airline points with two different airlines. Just like you can purchase a gift card via the United App and add it to your Starbucks app you can also link you Starbuck account to your Delta Skymiles account as well.
Yup that's how we're rocking ! Doing so you can now earn 1 mile per $1 spent at participating Starbucks stores on Delta, 2 miles per $1 spent when you purchase an E-Gift card with United and earn double stars on the Starbucks app by checking out using a Starbucks gift Card.
