The Girl from Bali

Bali, Indonesia is by far one of the most beautiful countries I have visited thus far. My absolute favorite part of the trip was visiting the Lempuyang Temple better known as the Gate of Heaven.

The temple is located in Ubud which is about 2 hours north from the city as there are no major highways only one lane streets but that made the trip all the better. Once you arrive you are required to rent a sarong to wrap around your lower half as well as your top half of your shoulders and/or back is open.

You want to get there early as not only do you have a steep hike to walk up but there will also be a massive line. The temple has several rules that you should abide by out of respect such as women are not permitted while menstruating and to keep your thoughts and language pure. And of course you will find their biggest secret yet once you arrive.
