So, my girlfriend Lisa aka “The Wine Chef” has done it again! She literally knocked me off my feet with her Mushroom Risotto Recipe…truly a work of art. The most delicious, home made risotto I have ever had. I recently sampled it at her home! So, naturally I had to try it out for myself and make it for my family. And boy was it a hit.

Lisa and I met many moons ago working together in the advertising department of “The New York Times”. We had so many fun moments learning from the best and the brightest at The Times. Although, Lisa would spend hours cutting out recipes from the Times Food Section. She was much more excited about the recipes than selling advertising LOL!

Lisa decided that her passion was cooking not selling so she departed “The Times” and became a full time student at the French Culinary Institute. There she mastered her dream to become a chef. And trust me, everything Lisa made was delicious and most all filled with her passion. Every bite savory– every dessert sweet and so memorable. She worked for several of NYC’s top restaurants Lisa then decided to pursue her other passion that of a wine.

She worked at Sherry Lehmann learning about wine and spirits. Currently, she works at The Grape Collective and has been traveling the world tasting wine and learning all about the art of wine making. Every one of her recipes is paired with a wine and a story. Following her on her travels is always so exciting and educational. As girlfriends, we have shared many meals together out and about in New York City. Lisa always knows the best restaurants, the trendiest places and when we are out…I always let her tell me what to order!
